Ingredients

  • 2 cans 21 oz each cherry pie filling
  • 1 box 15.25 oz yellow cake mix
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter melted
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract optional
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Spread cherry pie filling evenly in the dish and stir in almond extract if using.
  • Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the cherries. Do not stir.
  • Sprinkle cinnamon on top if desired.
  • Drizzle melted butter evenly over the cake mix.
  • Bake for 45–55 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
  • Cool for 10 minutes before serving with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
