Ingredients

  • Chocolate Layer
  • 1 3.9-ounce package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 4 ounces whipped topping half of an 8-ounce container
  • Marshmallow Layer
  • 4 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 7-ounce jar marshmallow creme
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 ounces whipped topping remaining half
  • Assembly
  • 9 whole graham crackers enough for 3 layers
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips optional
  • Chocolate syrup for drizzling (optional)
  • Crushed graham crackers for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the chocolate pudding mix and cold milk until thickened, about 2 minutes. Fold in half of the whipped topping until smooth and creamy.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, marshmallow creme, and vanilla extract until smooth. Fold in the remaining whipped topping until light and fluffy.
  • Line the bottom of an 8×8-inch baking dish with a layer of graham crackers. Spread the chocolate pudding mixture evenly over the crackers. Add another layer of graham crackers.
  • Spread the marshmallow mixture evenly over the graham crackers. Top with the final layer of graham crackers. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight.
  • Remove the dessert from the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for about 5 minutes to soften slightly.
  • Slice into squares and serve immediately. Drizzle with chocolate syrup and garnish with mini chocolate chips or crushed graham crackers, if desired.

Notes

  • Freeze overnight for the cleanest slices.
  • Run a sharp knife under warm water before cutting.
  • Store the dessert in the freezer until ready to serve.
  • Homemade whipped cream can be substituted for frozen whipped topping.
  • Add peanut butter or caramel between the layers for a delicious variation.
