- Casserole
- 1½ pounds fresh green beans trimmed
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 2 cups Alfredo sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt to taste
- Topping
- ¾ cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the green beans and cook for 4–5 minutes until crisp-tender. Drain immediately and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in the Alfredo sauce, black pepper, Italian seasoning, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese. Cook until the cheese melts and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
Add the cooked green beans to the Alfredo mixture and gently toss until evenly coated.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread into an even layer.
In a small bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs, melted butter, Parmesan cheese, and parsley. Sprinkle evenly over the casserole.
Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, or until the casserole is hot and bubbling and the topping is golden brown.
Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with extra Parmesan and parsley if desired.
- Fresh green beans provide the best texture.
- Frozen green beans can be substituted; thaw and drain well before using.
- Freshly shredded cheese melts much better than pre-shredded.
- Broil for the last 1–2 minutes for an extra crispy topping.
- Assemble ahead and refrigerate until ready to bake.
