Ingredients

  • 1 16-ounce bag frozen cut green beans
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt or to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • ¼ cup chicken broth or water
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice optional
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley optional

Instructions

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the butter and let it melt completely. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add the frozen green beans directly to the skillet. Stir well to coat them with the butter and garlic.
  • Sprinkle in the onion powder, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Stir until the seasonings evenly coat the green beans.
  • Pour in the chicken broth or water. Cover the skillet with a lid and cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring once or twice, until the green beans are tender.
  • Remove the lid and cook for another 2–3 minutes, allowing any excess liquid to evaporate.
  • Stir in the lemon juice and garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • No need to thaw the green beans before cooking.
  • Fresh garlic gives the best flavor.
  • Add grated Parmesan cheese before serving for extra richness.
  • Crispy bacon bits make a delicious variation.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
